Sanctuary

This work is an Interactive installation of soft sculptures. You can go inside the largest hanging sculpture to be surrounded by lit up shades of greens, crystals, dripping ribbons, and fabric. Hanging around the largest sculpture are long lines of knotted ribbons holding a cluster of smaller sculptures together. In these communities or chosen families of sculptures you can gently reach inside an individual sculpture to find and bring out the sculpture within. These sculptures are the physicalization of our emotions & parts. Some you can cradle in the palm of your hand while others you can wrap your arms around. They have infinite names and pronouns. All of their bodies are unique, special and perfect as they are and as they grow. They are sensitive & gentle even the slightest physical move needs to be done with care, attention, and in a consensually aware way. And when you are ready to stop connecting you can re-find the sculpture it hides inside through its attached ribbon. This is the place they rest & restore energy, they are little universes of care, similar to Pokémon(TM) charging balls. The work is a bridge to connect to our emotional & physical needs through consensually minded care.
